The photo shows only the rear of the 2019 Porsche 911. The car differs from the current model in the design of its air intakes and the slim light bar running the full width of the body. Most likely a Porsche 911 4S coupe was photographed: the widened rear wings and four exhaust pipes point to that. The car will keep the three-litre turbocharged six of the current model, but its output will be raised to roughly 450 hp. The base 911 Carrera will have around 400 hp. In 2015 the 911 was facelifted with a new generation of engines. Most naturally aspirated engines gave way to new 3.0-litre units that save fuel and deliver more torque. Only the GT3 models continue without a turbocharger.

Nevertheless, additional technology is planned. Electrification is an important topic for Porsche. In the long term, hybrid drivetrains will appear. Mild hybrids with a 48-volt electrical system and starter may also come. The task for the engineers: make the transition from regeneration to braking as precise as a conventional brake. Drivers should not feel any discomfort. The new-generation 911 will get new door handles and slightly oval LED lamps. The cabin uses an analogue rev counter and two small displays. The centre console holds a large touchscreen. The 911 takes these changes from the Cayenne and Panamera.

The new 992 series will be launched in the course of 2018. The first public showing is expected to be at the Paris motor show. The base price in Germany is expected to be around 100,000 euros.
