A master mechanic drives to the vehicle, checks the mechanics and the condition of the paint, scans the control units and takes it for a test drive. If documents are available, he checks those too. You then receive photos, video and the inspection report. Work out here what that costs.
A call with the seller before we set off for the inspection
Checking the documents and whether the details in the listing are accurate
Paint thickness measured all round and the quality of previous repairs checked
Engine bay, fluids and possible leaks checked
Electronic scan of the accessible control units with a fault log
Test drive, road behaviour and a check for unusual noises
Photos and video straight from the appointment over WhatsApp or Telegram
Translating and explaining: documents, equipment, your questions to the seller
Negotiation with the seller (we keep half of what we negotiate off, and we say so upfront) and help with the paperwork if you buy
What the price is made of
Two items: the inspection itself, which follows the value of the car, and the travel costs. If the car is more than 500 kilometres away, the trip becomes a two-day one.
Inspection, vehicle up to €50,000
€260
Inspection, vehicle up to €100,000
€360
Inspection, vehicle above that
from €400 or by arrangement
Travel costs
€1.80 per kilometre, one way from 86579 Waidhofen
Overnight stay on trips beyond 500 km
€120
Half of the discount
If we negotiate a discount for you, we keep half of it. An example: the car costs €20,000, we talk €1,000 off it, €500 of that goes to us and €500 you save.
What is not included
Taxes, temporary plates, insurance, transport and everything else around the drive home are yours to pay. The inspection is not a dismantling workshop diagnosis and not a statutory test: cleared faults, manufacturer-protected systems and intermittent defects can limit what can be said. Every such limit is written into the report.
Check without a visit: €200
The car is far away, or you are still choosing between several offers? Then we check from a distance first, before anyone sets off. Afterwards you know whether an inspection is worth it.
