Customer review: buying a 2014 VW Passat

Hello everyone. My name is Artem and I am a happy Destacar customer! In October 2017 I bought a 2014 VW Passat in Germany with the help of Destacar and imported it to Ukraine. I had a small dream: to buy a car and drive it home myself.

I had watched Denis's channel for many years and knew that all sorts of details can come up both when buying and when inspecting a car. Despite that, I was firmly decided to buy a car and bring it in under the reduced customs duty.

Looking for a car in a foreign country without knowing the language and without any equipment would have been extremely unwise. I turned to Denis for help. We discussed all the questions, and I clarified how the inspection would go, what I should be prepared for and what the service would cost.

The search and inspection procedure was very pleasant and simple. I sent over the options I had picked out. Denis looked through them and rejected some straight away, because he knew the sellers and they sold bad cars. We chose the options to inspect and Denis arranged it with the seller.

The car turned out to be in poor condition: repainted, scratched and apparently in an accident. Luckily, the same seller had another option! Slightly lower trim level, but in very good condition. 176 thousand kilometres, but in good condition. Denis carried out the inspection and confirmed that the car was worth it. Clean interior, good mechanical condition, engine and gearbox working perfectly. Not repainted, no accident damage, full service history. A few scuffs and one scratch. But nothing serious.

The car was reserved and I paid for Denis's services. When I arrived, the car was already ready. We finalised a few more documents, I checked with Denis whether I had all the paperwork, and I drove home.

The drive, customs, registration: everything went without any problems.

The hardest stage was the VAT refund. The seller turned out to be not entirely reasonable and kept delaying the VAT refund, even though everything had been done correctly and there were no problems!

That was when I fully appreciated the level of service and the advantages of working with Destacar! Even though nobody expected such a turn of events, Denis and Anna helped with the VAT refund. I did not have to travel to Germany and did not have to deal with the “problems” the seller had invented. I was completely calm and confident in the professionalism of the Destacar team. And rightly so! After 6 months, the VAT was refunded after all.

I am very grateful to Destacar for the work they did, for the effort they put in, for the “battles” with the seller. This is truly excellent customer service!

A few words about the car

A year and 22 thousand kilometres later, the car has had no problems at all! Denis really did pick out an excellent Passat. There are now 198 thousand on the odometer and the car keeps making us happy with trouble-free daily city driving and long journeys.

My advice to everyone: work only with true professionals, and Destacar are without doubt exactly that.

I will be buying my next car with Destacar, that is 100% certain!
