On 5 October 2026 Denis Rem started the Opel Lotus Omega No. 0571. The car had stood still for a whole year. Denis filled it with fresh petrol, the engine fired up, and after the drive it was clear: everything works. This collectible sports saloon from the early 90s is with us, and its owner has decided to sell it.
A year off the road and the first drive
Nothing was done to the car over the last year, it simply stood. That made it all the more interesting to see how it would behave after the break. On fresh petrol the engine started, and the Lotus Omega drove the way it should.
Denis's impression after the drive is simple: this is a real car from the 90s. You feel everything people knew how to build back then, and it is fascinating.

Our story with this car began in 2017. Denis was looking for a Lotus Omega for a client and inspected three cars. The first raised questions about its mileage and its engine, the second had been repainted all round, with filler and rust. The best of the three was No. 0571: it stood at an Opel dealer and came from its first owner.

Later in 2017 Denis collected the car from the dealer and drove it home. Even then he noted how it pulls from 3500 rpm, and how heavy the clutch is: in this car you have to work, not just drive. Today the car is in storage with us.
What a Lotus Omega is
The base is the Opel Omega, the development work was done at the Lotus factory in Hethel. Displacement grew to 3.6 litres, the engine got two Garrett T25 turbochargers and makes 377 hp. The gearbox is a six-speed ZF manual, and top speed is 283 km/h.
From October 1990 to October 1992 only 950 of these cars were built, Opel Lotus Omega and Vauxhall Lotus Carlton together. 630 of them are Omegas.

No. 0571 today
The odometer now reads 83,500 km, and the car has had two owners. The engine was replaced, and this is recorded in the service book. In 2017 the dealer's card said 83,000 km: over all these years the car has hardly been driven.
Denis is convinced that cars like this only get more valuable with time. The owner has decided to sell No. 0571, and you will find all the details in the listing.
